Every cyclist — from beginners to road cyclists to mountain bikers — benefits from a professional, custom Bike Fit. A proper fit delivers a range of powerful performance and health benefits.

Making your ride more comfortable is just the start. Ensuring the correct bike set-up prevents jarring of your joints and muscles which can lead to injury. It also aligns the bike to your body measurements, shape and flexibility — boosting your pedalling efficiency and allowing you to push power to where it's needed most. Because your body no longer expends energy adjusting and compensating for an improper fit, you can ride for longer without fatigue.

Following a Bike Fit, many of our clients report positive changes — from bettering their top speed to enjoying a smoother, more streamlined ride.

Allow 2–3 hours for a full fitting. Some fits go quicker if the starting position is already close to correct; occasionally we'll book a follow-up 30-minute tweak once you've ridden the new position in for a couple of weeks.

Bring the bike you want to fit, your cycling shoes (with cleats if you ride clipless), shorts and a jersey so I can see how your body moves, and a water bottle — you'll be on the bike a lot.

If you ride more than one bike regularly, mention it up front and we'll discuss whether a single fit can transfer or whether each bike needs its own session.

We set up a vast range of clipless pedals and cleats, including Look, Time, Speedplay, Shimano, Campagnolo, SPD, plus any 2/3/4-hole cleat system. Cleat setup is the foundation of the whole fit and we spend serious time on it — fore-aft, lateral position, rotation, float, wedging under the ball of the foot. If your shoes aren't right for your foot shape, we'll discuss alternatives.

Always on the bike you intend to ride away on. Trying to transfer measurements from a bike-fitting jig to a real bike does not work well — the geometry, flex, saddle height and cockpit all behave differently under load. Real bike, real results.

Yes — you get a full list of your bike measurements before and after the fit. I also keep a record of the changes so we can refer back if you need further adjustments or change bike.

Yes, certainly — I offer 50% discount on the second bike. Mention both bikes when you book so we can allow enough time in the session.

Arguably even more worth it. A poor fit in the first month or two is the fastest way to decide cycling “isn't for me”. Knees hurt, lower back burns, you can't breathe in the drops — all of it is usually fit, not fitness. A beginner-level fit focuses on comfort and injury prevention rather than marginal watts, and it's what lets you actually enjoy the sport for long enough to get fitter.

Yes. Cyclists at the top of British domestic racing — including British Circuit Race Champion Anna Henderson — have come to me specifically to resolve performance-blocking issues (stem length, saddle position, reach). The gains are real, but they're also in comfort and durability: being able to hold a position for 3 hours without your back screaming is its own marginal gain.

Come back. A 30-day no-fuss tweak is included — ride the position in for a couple of weeks, then if something still isn't clicking we'll revisit it.

A full Bike Fit Service including saddle fitting is £125.00. A second bike in the same session is 50% off. If a new stem is needed I supply it at cost price (typically £15–£20). Call 07379 363257 or drop a message to book.
